SAP and Microsoft in talks?
Yesterday, rumors surfaced that Microsoft was in talks to acquire SAP. The news bumped SAP’s shares up, and notched Microsoft’s down.
Of course, in 2004, the antitrust case surrounding Oracle’s acquisition of PeopleSoft revealed that SAP and Microsoft had briefly and unsuccessfully talked about merging.
As luck would have it, SAP CEO Henning Kagermann was in Boston today for the SAP Influencer Summit to give a keynote and hold a press conference. When asked, point blank, whether SAP and Microsoft had discussions about a possible acquisition, Kagermann responded with a quick, definitive “no.”
So, this time it appears the rumor was just that.

SAP, a business application software producer, has a unique identity in the business world. The software has a very high level of integration among its individual applications. It guarantees consistency of data through out the system and the company itself. SAP has numerous successful implementations to serve various industries. SAP may become micro SAP or Microsoft-SAP after merging with Microsoft. That is not an ideal trademark for SAP and its various users.

I don’t think so, SAP already acquire Business Object. Why SAP will acquire? No, It is not possible.
Right now, it is working with every possible vendor, so that it become more independent.

It just another way of how Microsoft would do the technology acquisition to develop its own technology through monopoly. Let be SAP independent from Microsoft. World is too huge to be monopolize by Microsoft.
